Ballastless tracks are particularly high-performance trackways used primarily on high-speed or heavily frequented lines. Such routes are often associated with high noise loads for residents, which are usually reduced by noise barriers. However, these are cost-intensive or not feasible due to confined spatial conditions.
The RONA sound absorption layer from RAILONE offers – particularly in combination with other measures – an effective alternative. It consists of precast concrete elements whose special surface structure and porosity effectively absorb sound from the wheel-rail contact and can reduce the overall noise level of train traffic by up to three decibels. The absorber elements are placed fully or partially on the trackway and are sufficiently secured by their own weight, so no additional fixation is required. This allows the system to be installed quickly and efficiently and removed again when needed.

The PCM RAILONE Group has been manufacturing concrete sleepers and track systems for urban transit and long-distance rail transportation for over 60 years.
