Due to the low level of standardization in tram turnouts, wooden sleepers are still frequently used here. Yet concrete sleepers offer significantly longer service lives and greater safety. Thanks to the anchor rail fastening system AS-SKL, concrete turnout sleepers can also be designed and produced in a largely standardized manner. By using a continuous anchor rail as the fastening element in the sleeper, the interface to be coordinated during manufacturing is reduced solely to the sleeper length. Short delivery times and high availability of these sleepers are therefore an important factor in keeping turnout lead times low.
