RHEDA CITY as an embedded track can be implemented with rail encasements or rubber granulate groove-filling elements. The system's inherent lateral stability also allows for continuous rail support. Track surfacing is possible with asphalt, concrete (including precast) or paving.
The system structure is not altered in the road-embedded variant. The track slab is typically cast just below the rail foot, allowing the desired rail recess. In contrast, for continuous rail support, concrete is cast up to the rail foot, which is however naturally mounted softly on the track slab via an elastic encasement. Wear parts such as the rail and track surfacing are separable and replaceable, usually after 8–12 years together with the road surface, which effectively renews the trackway.
Embedded tracks can use Vignole or – more commonly – grooved rails. The latter have higher manufacturing tolerances and require special fastenings when the construction height is limited. For these cases, RAILONE developed the NV-1 system.

The PCM RAILONE Group has been manufacturing concrete sleepers and track systems for urban transit and long-distance rail transportation for over 60 years.
